Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She's an American-Mexican actor. She also sings. She was raised by her mother in the USA. Raised with racial insults, she was felt unloved. It was in her ninth grade when she began to gain confidence after receiving a rousing ovation at an audition. It not only boosted her confidence but altered the direction in which she went on to pursue her professional career. She was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. As she was turning 23, she started her professional career in Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, at 23 years old, her movie debut was You've Got Mail. Her greatest break came in her role as The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the first Broadway production of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great reviews for her role. Her fame grew for her appearance on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. Apart from being an acclaimed singer she released a solo as well as an extended version. In addition, she has been an advocate for LGBT concerns.
